Evonik Evonik Energy Services LLC, formerly Steag LLC, has been present in the US since 1992 and serves the fast growing North American utility market, working with fossil fuels trying to comply with the increasingly stringent governmental regulations. It is currently represented with the business units Energy Technology and Plant Services and provides various services to the North American utility market like SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) Management Services, Large Particle Ash Screens, as well as design engineering and consulting services for SCR’s and FGD’s (Flue Gas Desulfurization), full bench scale testing services, and SCR catalyst regeneration services.

Evonik Energy Services is located in Kings Mountain (North Carolina), 35 miles West of Charlotte. Since the year 2005  Hans Hartenstein presides over the company and employs more then 30 employees by now. In 2007 the business unit Plant Services was successfully launched and in only nine month of construction time the state-of-the-art SCR catalyst regeneration plant was opened and started up.

The future looks very promising, since the available engineering and consulting services for the power plant in the US is a large market.
